CenterStage Dance - Performing Company

Performing Company is a select group of dancers from CenterStage Dance who represent the studio to the public. The company’s main focus is to strengthen dancers who want to take their ability to another level through performing. In addition, they will learn to work as a team, develop lasting relationships with their peers, and give back to the community. Members spend the year rehearsing, performing, and attending professional dance events. Being a member of CenterStage Performing Company is a wonderful experience and honor. Dancers develop life long friendships and share lifetime experiences. This is for dedicated CenterStage dancers who love to perform and want to improve their skills!

 

 

Performance Opportunities:
Listed are just a few of the performance opportunities that the CenterStage Performing Company has the privilege of dancing for annually!

• Easter Seals Rice-N-Roll Event
This event raised money to go towards Stuttgart’s Easter Seals. Easter Seals is a preschool dedicated to teaching children with or without special needs in a loving environment.

• Stuttgart Arts Festival
This event shows local artwork and talent from Stuttgart and the surrounding areas. Contributions went to the Stuttgart Museum.

• Stuttgart Christmas Parade
The Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Stuttgart Christmas parade. The company members showed their Christmas spirit on a “Candy Land” Float!

Company members will participate in at least one dance convention. Conventions are a great way for dancers to learn new technique from multiple teachers in a weekend. (The specific convention and dates will be chosen by the director, Krista Keller.)

 
Summer Time:
CenterStage Staff works very hard over the summer months planning and organizing next year’s events and performances. The company is required to attend a week long private “Summer Choreography Dance Camp” just for performing company members. The choreography camp dates are listed below.

Each summer the performing company will choose a destination performance.

This summer the company will be performing in Branson Missouri! They will be opening for the Dixie Stampede show and the Rankin Brothers Show!

 
Dance Year:
In order to keep the choreography well rehearsed and be ready for performances the company will have a private technique class once a week that is required. This class will also ensure all company members to keep up with their technique as a dancer!

 
Requirements:

• Age Requirement: 7yrs and older
• Previous dance training in at least two styles of dance at CenterStage Dance (minimum of one year)
• Must enroll in Ballet, Tap & Jazz(total of 3-45min classes) at CenterStage Dance
• Participate and Pass Audition Process
• Will be required to take the Company Technique (45min class) throughout the year
• Must attend the Summer Choreography Class
• Good attendance and behavior throughout the year
