- Parent Information:
CenterStage Stars Competitive Cheerleading is a great athletic activity for your child to join. The commitment to the squad requires dedication to attend all practices and performances/competitions. This is a group event in which ALL members are needed. Teamwork is a major component that is both expected and will be taught throughout the year. - Competitions begin in January and are usually once a month until May. Dates for all events will be given at least 2 months in advance!
- Weekly classes will work on basic skills that are required in the routine. If a child masters a set skill, a more difficult skill will be given to keep improvements and growth throughout the year.
- Uniform includes the full shirt/shell, skirt, bloomers, socks, shoes, hair bow, and competition makeup.
- Practice attire consists of shorts, t-shirts, and socks. These are the clothes that will be worn at practice each week. Uniformity is very important for the overall aesthetics of cheerleading routines. Dress code will be strictly enforced!
- Team placement will be determined on each individual’s skill level and age. Everyone is judged on motions, dance, jumps, tumbling, and overall impression.
- Missed practices could determine a change in your child’s position on their cheer team.
- We will try to do our best to work with school cheer squad conflicts.
- It is the parent’s responsibility to be informed and know what is going on with your team at all times. Please check your e-mails regularly.
- All-star cheerleading is a strenuous sport. Athletes in our program are expected to be in top physical condition. That includes flexibility, strength, and endurance. We will condition at practices and we expect our athletes to exercise outside of practices.
- Removing your child from practice or competitions is not to be used as punishment for her actions outside of practice. This affects every other child on the team and the coaches.
- Contagious illness is an excused absence with a doctor’s note. If an all-star member has a head cold or just doesn’t feel well she is expected to attend practice and participate as much as possible.
- Please call or email the coaches to let them know of an absence before practice or it will be considered unexcused. It is important that coaches are able to prepare for practices.
- A specific attendance policy will be set at a later date.
